Dr. Melissa Briggs-Phillips
Dr. Melissa Briggs-Phillips is a clinical psychologist that has dedicated her professional life to caring for others mental health. She founded Next Generation Behavioral Health in 2015 with a vision to provide exceptional therapy to individuals and teach groups how to proactively pursue their best lives. Her diverse client base includes executives and leaders from various sectors.
With a background that spans from interning at the Family Violence and Sexual Assault Unit to leading complex projects, Dr. Briggs-Phillips has a wealth of experience. She has served as a Project Director for a multimillion-dollar public health research grant, overseen the construction of a large research facility, and acted as the Executive Director of an Innovation Center at The Ohio State University.
Additionally, she has restructured a research department at a medical center while maintaining her clinical practice with trauma survivors. As an adjunct professor, Dr. Briggs-Phillips has dedicated her personal time to mentoring first-generation college students. Through speaking engagements, she aims to inspire people to think differently and embrace new behaviors that align with their own best paths.
She believes that everybody has an inner world that is unique, and only when our inner lives are nurtured, can we have healthy and whole community and connection. She believes that diverse minds and bodies need to be in the places and spaces where decisions are made. Representation is a foundational aspect of belongingness and fashion is powerful way for people to show up as who they are.
